Estrella Pet Grooming is a family owned and operated business. We value continuing education, and regularly attend industry trade shows and competitions to advance our knowledge of new products and techniques. Our groomers are encouraged to attend classes and competitions to enhance their skill level. We enjoy our community and love attending community events, including; Wag-A-Thon, Dana Point Festival of Whales, Concerts in the Park, Christmas Light Parade, Yappy Hour, and the list goes on! You can find owner, Cat Opson, and her colorful poodles at almost any local community event, animal related or otherwise!

Catherine (Cat) Opson, owner and award-winning groomer, has been caring for pets in Southern Orange County for more than 17 years. She has successfully owned and operated Estrella Pet Grooming since July of 2000. Cat graduated from the Paul Mitchell School of Cosmetology and is a licensed cosmetologist in California. While regularly attending industry trade shows, Cat teaches classes to fellow groomers, and competes in breed profile competitions at the national level against other top groomers from across the world. She has climbed the ranks to achieve "top ten" status and membership on the coveted Groom Team USA 2013.

Cat is nationally and internationally known for her beautiful creative grooming designs. She skillfully sculpts and colors her dog's hair into bright, living canvases that proudly display her artwork. She has received national acclaim for her clever Creative Street and Simpsons designs.

Cat was featured with her creatively colored dogs on Jimmy Kimmel Live in October 2013, 2014 and 2015. She was nominated in 2012 and 2013 for Creative Groomer of the Year, winning the title in 2013. She has also been featured on the cover of Groomer to Groomer magazine with her 1st place design, Jurassic Bark.

Cat resides locally, and her passion for pets and her community are unsurpassed. She truly is the leader of the pack in South Orange County for all breed dog and cat grooming.

Richele Giguere, groomer, grew up in Fountain Valley, California. After working in a veterinary office, she decided she wanted a career path in the pet industry. Richele graduated from the OC Grooming Academy in June 2012. She began working at Estrella Pet Grooming as an apprentice under owner Cat Opson. After apprenticing for 3 months, Richele was promoted to full charge groomer. She has a passion for all dogs and loves Huskies in particular. She also has a passion for horses, and can be regularly found at the stables. She enjoys attending industry trade show classes to continue improving her skills. Estrella Pet Grooming is proud and happy to have Richele as a member of our team.

Lyndsey Swan, groomer, is a San Clemente native who has been involved in the animal industry for over 10 years. Originally working in animal behavior and dog rescue, she helped to rehabilitate misunderstood dogs to become part of healthy, loving families. With a background in cosmetology, and a love for animals, she decided to combine her skills and passions to become a dog groomer. Lyndsey loves working at Estrella Pet Grooming where she is challenged and learns something new every day. When Lyndsey isn't working, you can find her at the beach with her shihtzu Bruce, photographing her husband surfing, or out in the water herself on her stand up paddle board.
